LinkedIn is an important tool for professional networking and interacting with potential job candidates – but how you use it is crucial to discovering the right individuals for the right jobs at your company.

One alternative is to engage your staff in the app by encouraging them to interact with company updates and material. There are right and wrong ways to do this (note: cutting and pasting messages from your employees is not the way to go), but LinkedIn has been working to make it easier with a number of new company page features in the app, including the integration of its Elevate employee advocacy platform into its general tools.

Thermo Fisher Scientific, a scientific supplier, has been able to improve its recruitment and employer branding efforts through the app as a result of these changes. According to LinkedIn:

"LinkedIn's employee advocacy program sent a regular feed of curated information from LinkedIn Pulse and Newsle to Thermo Fisher Scientific. Employees might remark on and share these posts for easy social interaction while also sparking targeted, relevant discussions about their jobs.

Other industry talent connected to Thermo Fisher's workers would view and interact with this content, providing Thermo Fisher with a natural approach to acquire that talent based on their interests."

According to LinkedIn, employing Thermo's workers to amplify critical messages resulted in a 62 percent increase in reach for the company's various authored and curated posts.
