I understand, it is a very sensitive topic on which I am expressing my point of view because I always care and love all animals equally – Be it goat, cat, dog or chicken. Sacrificing animals & eating meat is quite common in Islam and Hinduism, which you are already aware of.

Before you judge me, let me tell you that I am not writing this article to hurt your religious sentiments but to let everyone know how animals are treated in the name of religion. Billions of animals and birds are mercilessly killed each year in India and other counties – sometimes in the name of religion & other times, to satisfy your tastebuds. Please don’t comment and tell me that, in Halal, animals don’t feel pain or Jhatka is better than Halal. The fact is, no animal or bird on this planet wants to die for your taste or beliefs.

Now, let’s talk about sacrificing animals in Sikhism. As you can see in my photograph, it is clear that Sikhs (Esp. Nihang & Hazuri Sikhs) are allowed to kill animals and eat their meat. They employ the technique of Jhatka and eat goats during festivals throughout the year.

Most shocking thing about Sikh people: They do not kill or eat meat!.Many people think that Sikh people do not kill or eat meat-Here is our exclusive report for them.

“When performing Jhatka on a goat, first the goat is bathed with water, meanwhile Japji Sahib and Chandi di Var are read from the Sikh scriptures. Thereafter, the goat is taken to the middle of the Gurudwara compound. One Singh holds the hind legs of the goat while the other slaughters it using Jhatka technique. After this, the head of the goat is taken in a saucer and its blood is applied to the weapons of Guru Gobind Singh, which are placed in front of Guru Granth Sahib.”

It should be kept in mind that certain sects of modern Sikhs do not slaughter animals or eat meat as there exists a debate within this community about whether or not meat consumption is a part of Sikh teachings. Most scholars say that these practices are misunderstood and not to equate them with sacrificial slaughter found in other religions.

Conclusion

In the end, I would just say that no God/ Goddess/ Prophet/ Allah/ Messiah has ever told a human to kill animals and birds and eat their flesh. You’re doing it all for yourself and to satisfy your tastebuds in the name of religion.
