History Of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
In 1985, the Government of India had decided to set up co-educational institutions known as Model Schools, one in each district, essentially to provide good quality modern education to talented children predominantly from rural areas. This Vidyalaya was come into the existence By Our Former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi, Accordingly, two schools called as Navodaya Vidyalayas, one at Amravati (Maharastra) and another at Jajjar (Hariyana) were started in 1985-86.
Currently, more than 595+ Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are spread across the length and breadth of the country in all the States and Union Territories except Tamil Nadu. JNV, Banekuchi was established in 1994 in Mukalmua of Nalbari District in a temporary building and the Vidyalaya was shifted to the present complex in Banekuchi in the year 2005.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Was first Established In Amravati (Maharastra) and another at Jajjar (Hariyana) was started in 1985-86.
Establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas
Each district is to have one JNV developed in accordance with government policy. As a result, 62 new JNVs in various districts around the nation received approval for the 2016–17 academic year. Additionally, 10 JNVs per JNV have been authorized in districts with high SC & ST population concentrations. In addition, 3 JNVs in 3 districts, Senapati-II in Manipur, Ukhrul-II in Manipur, and Ratlam-II in Madhya Pradesh, were approved as special cases, increasing the total number of JNVs approved to 661. Each Vidyalaya is allowed to have a complete campus with enough space for classrooms, dorms, staff quarters, dining halls, and other infrastructural amenities like play areas, workshops, libraries, and labs, among other things.

The eight Regional Offices of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti are at Bhopal, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Pune & Shillong with jurisdiction over different States and UTs. Admission Procedure In Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV)
In order to take your admission to JNV First of all you need to give an Entrance exam which is Conducted By Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, You can apply for the JNV examination through the JNV portal, Previously the application form was also applied offline, but from the previous 2 years, the Offline Facilities for filling application form is Closed by the Samiti.
This exam is usually conducted in the first week of February, probably on Sunday. Once you are selected for the entrance exam, then you have to go through with various procedures in the respective JNVs.
